Chichicastenango, known as Chichi, is an indigenous village in the Guatemalan altiplano, vibrant with a colorful market that dates from before the arrival of the Spanish. This market, one of the largest in Central America, offers a wide range of products, from fruits and vegetables to crafts and street food. We will visit the market, the cemetery and the traditional mask factory, as well as the church of Santo Tomás, which reflects the Guatemalan syncretism with Mayan and Latin influences. As well as exploring life around the main square while admiring the vibrant textiles that flood the market. Chichicastenango is a fascinating example of the rich indigenous culture and religious syncretism in Guatemala.
