November in Guatemala: A Month of Deep Traditions and Cultural Celebrations

November in Guatemala is a month full of color, tradition and connection with the country's cultural roots. The month begins with All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day (November 1 and 2), when Guatemalan families gather in cemeteries to honor their deceased loved ones. The graves are decorated with flowers, candles and shared; The traditional Fiambre, a dish that mixes more than 50 ingredients, as a symbol of family unity. 

One of the most fascinating traditions is the Giant Kite Festival in Sumpango and Santiago Sacatepéquez. These colorful and enormous kites, which reach 20 meters in diameter, rise to the sky as a sign of respect for the spirits that visit us during these days.

In the highlands, Todos Santos Cuchumatán celebrates the historic Race of the Ribbons, where local riders, in typical costumes, compete in an event that mixes bravery and tradition, a true spectacle that attracts locals and tourists alike.
