On November 30 of every year the Influencer Day is celebrated with the aim of providing recognition to all those people who through their content get to inspire and influence thousands of people. Many of these content creators also publicize and position many brands using their products and promoting them through digital marketing. We can describe an influencer or content creator as a person with great capacity to impact a specific sector of society. Usually people of friendly character who have a lot of credibility and convincing power that share their life through social networks or vlogs.
To celebrate this day and congratulate them on their day we have interviewed 4 travel and tourism content creators who have shared with us their experience through the following questions:
Finally, they give us some advice for all those who are attracted to this type of work and want to enter the world of influencers. Read on to find out their answers.
He is a creator of travel and tourism content for Guatemala and other countries. You can find him on Instagram and TikTok as**@wofo8**, on YouTube as Aventulust, which is a channel he has with his girlfriend Juls, who can be found on Instagram and TikTok as @julsgoes.
What do you like the most about being an influencer?
In my case that I am dedicated to create travel content I love to know new places both in Guate and in other countries and to show them to my community to motivate them to travel and enjoy life, I always keep in mind that saying that "to travel is to live ".
I like to promote local tourism through my networks, we live in a country very rich in natural resources, history, culture and gastronomy, and we could easily be a world power in tourism. Not all countries have the potential that Guate has in this sector and I am a true believer that if we all do our bit we can turn Guate into a reference.
Another of the things I like most about being a content creator or influencer, is to be able to own my time, to have the freedom to manage my schedule and not have to depend on someone.
What kind of content can they find on your channels?
My content is focused on travel, promote my country Guatemala and show through my networks my experiences traveling to other countries. You can find all kinds of tourist places, hotel options, restaurants, local guides and travel tips in general.
What challenge have you found that you didn't think you would have?
Many people who consider that this is not a formal job, and do not understand that it is one of the most effective ways to be able to promote something in these times.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start creating content?
First of all, they should not care what people say or think about them, if they really like or are interested in this world, they should just do it and give it their all to get ahead. Another tip I can give them is to focus their networks on a niche market that they are passionate about, such as: travel, healthy living, gym, fashion, history, etc. That will help you create a community that will seek you out and recognize you for it.
She is a digital content creator with a focus on travel and lifestyle, and shares with us her experiences with her husband Esteban and Harry their dog. You can find her on Instagram and Tiktok as @mishicz.
What do you like most about being an influencer?
It is a term that is still hard for me to digest, but I think that what I like the most is to create a community and share what I like and what I am passionate about. I am very attached to not separating myself from being myself and sharing with people who even at a distance believe and support me in what I do. I think that beautiful community is one of the things I love the most. I started sharing about things I was passionate about and places I went and little by little it grew because of people who believe in what I say and do. Receiving their support is one of the things I love the most.
What kind of content can they find in your channels?
The type of content they can find in my profile is travel and lifestyle. The truth is I share a little bit of everything, I love my puppy and I'm married, I share my whole couple and family process. I've been on Instagram for years and it's been nice to spend every stage of my life sharing what I love and who I'm with.
What challenge have you found that you didn't think you would have?
The biggest challenge I've had is the fact that even though I like to share and be as transparent as possible, being able to also separate a lot of very personal things for safety. Obviously when you open up to the world and share everything, it's inevitable to share personal stuff, but that's a big challenge. Also the fact of creating content in such a changing time is a challenge, but a positive one because it pushes you to keep improving.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start creating content?
My advice is to never stop being who you are. Do what you love and share it, even if it's small things but all that stuff that makes us automatically shine when we do it and share it is the best way to create content and the best way to attach yourself to a community. There are people who love to read and create reading communities, people who post phrases, etc. You can start with anything, it can be a talent, something you are passionate about, a hobby, whatever. The most important thing is not to get carried away because the first time you did not do well or by the comments of others, do not stop being yourself, there will always be someone trying to put bumps in the road, but it is important to know that you are the one who decides how things influence your life. It is also important to be very constant, to have a lot of responsibility with what you say and do, the theme of being an "influencer" is to be influential in your social networks and you have to take that into account.
Jose Manuel, best known as Chepito, is a Guatemalan content creator who likes to explore the country and show us the most hidden corners of it. In his networks he shares his travels, meals and outings. You can find him on Instagram as @chepitogt and on Tiktok as @chepitoteinforma.
What do you like most about being an influencer?
I love my country. I am proudly Guatemalan, the fact of visiting every corner of my country and getting to know its people and culture makes me proud. I like to be able to make Guatemala known through my content.
What kind of content can they find in your channels?
It's quite varied, from new places to go to eat, entrepreneurship, where to go for a walk and lodging. I like to share different hotel experiences, historical data, curiosities and a little bit of everything. It's a very varied content, I try to be very original with my shots, give honest reviews and a sincere opinion of the places I visit.
What challenge have you found that you didn't think you would have?
I have found it difficult to access places. For example, if I want to publicize a historic building in the city or a place where access is restricted, it's hard to get those permits, but so far it's been possible. Even so, I have in my sights some places that are not open to the public and that is what has created the most difficulty.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start creating content?
My main advice is not give up so easily, creating content is hard because you have to be very consistent and original. Depending on the content you want to create you can invest a lot of money, time and effort, but there is a point where you realize that it is worth it and you are reaching a lot of people and that motivates you to keep going. The comments from people who like your content encourage you to do it.
Andrea is an architect and content creator based in Lake Atitlán. In her networks we see of her life surrounded by nature and exploring the most incredible places of this destination. You can find her on Instagram as @anvicah and as @arquitecturadeadobe.
What do you like most about being an influencer?
I like to share the beautiful places that make me vibrate and inspire me. I really appreciate receiving feedback on how my photos and messages have an effect on the people who follow me and in this way convey messages of environmental conservation, learning, taking care of our health and questioning about life.
What kind of content can they find in your channels?
In my profile you can find content about Yoga, wellness, spirituality, nature, architecture and art.
What challenge have you found that you didn't think you would have?
Technology. I have never been very technological and I realize that the message I want to give sometimes takes me a long time to project it in an attractive way, my tools are very basic and that has been a challenge.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start creating content?
We all already influence the people around us every day with our actions, words and thoughts. We choose what we mentally consume, and in the end we are a result of what we repeat daily. So if you like a topic and want to share it, soak in that topic and make it a daily learning.
On behalf of Travelisimo we congratulate all creators on their day and thank them for the work and effort they put into their content. Happy Influencer's Day!
