Guatemala, as the Heart of the Mayan World, has many of the most beautiful Mayan Ruins, such as The Great City of Tikal. Mayan ruins are located all over the country, from the northern jungle of Peten to the south coast of Escuintla and Retalhuleu.
A hidden gem called Semuc Champey is located in Coban's mountains, these pools were formed of limestone hundreds of years ago. The exuberant Cahabon river is hidden underneath the stone.
Guatemala has various volcanoes to hike, the most visited are: Pacaya and Acatenango. From both volcanoes you will be able to see stunning views that are worth the hike to their peaks.
