About Guatemala - Chapter 7 - Arriving in Guatemala

You will arrive at La Aurora International Airport where you must pass the corresponding procedures to enter the country, with some requirements described below:

Required documents:

• Valid Passport
• Plane ticket in which you arrived in Guatemala
• Tax return (this document is provided by the airline before landing in Guatemala)
• Corresponding visa, except for countries that correspond to category (A)

Financial solvency

Through credit cards or cash, that support your stay for tourism purposes in the country, business or other. Additionally, you must provide the address where you are going, either with the hotel reservation or proof where you will stay in the country. You must also present your return ticket that assures your departure from the country.

Entry requirements for residents of Guatemala

• Valid passport
• Valid resident visa

Residents without a stamped visa or expired visa

• Valid passport
• Personal identification document, Resident (DPI)

Exchange money

The Guatemalan currency is the Quetzal, it is identified in shops with the initial Q. You will be able to change money at the airport in money exchange offices or at any bank, it is required to bring your passport in order to exchange money in Guatemala. Airport transportation

At the time of your arrival at the airport, you can choose many means of transport to take you to your first stop, among them are the Yellow Taxis, Uber or previously scheduled private transportation.
