Itinerary

Day 1

Airport transfer to hotel.

Day 2

Start of the tour. Meet your local guide, who will introduce you to the history, culture and evolution of El Salvador.

Historic Center of San Salvador. Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador, Mausoleum of Monsignor Romero, National Library of El Salvador (BINAES)

Guided tour of emblematic squares and buildings, and historical, religious and cultural context.

Modern panoramic tour. Santa Elena

Zona Rosa, Monument to the Divine Savior of the World. View of residential and commercial areas, contrast between the historical and the contemporary.

Free time for lunch. Guide's recommendations.

San Salvador Volcano. El Boquerón National Park offers an easy hike to crater viewpoints, panoramic views of the San Salvador Valley, and a cool climate and natural environment.

Day 3

Archaeological Route Option

Joya de Cerén (UNESCO), preserved Mayan daily life, ruins of San Andrés and political and ceremonial center. Tallest pyramid in the country. Ending at Lake Coatepeque.

Flower Route Option

Visit to Izalco (living culture) Experience: Pupusa workshop. Preparation of typical national food. Participatory experience, towns, cafes, murals and shops, handicrafts.

Day 4

Cerro Verde & Coatepeque

Tour of Salcoatitán, Nahuizalco, and Izalco. Visit to Cerro Verde National Park with views of the Izalco and Santa Ana volcanoes and Lake Coatepeque. Transfer to the airport.
