Discover the Flower Route with its colorful towns like Ataco and Apaneca, hike to the Monterrey Waterfalls and the famous Tamanique Waterfalls, and end your trip relaxing on the iconic beaches of El Tunco, world-renowned for surfing on El Salvador's Pacific coast.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in San Salvador and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy the urban atmosphere at Paseo El Carmen or Multiplaza, key areas for entertainment and dining in El Salvador's capital.

Day 2

Early departure for Santa Ana. Transfer to the western part of the country with an introduction from the guide about volcanoes and Salvadoran geography.

Ascent to the Santa Ana Volcano (Ilamatepec). Crater with turquoise lagoon, views towards the Izalco Volcano and Lake Coatepeque. One of the most iconic hikes in Central America. Guided hike (moderate level) approximate duration: 3–4 hours

Descent and transfer to Lake Coatepeque

Lunch overlooking the lake. Lake Coatepeque, free time for lunch (not included). Option of drinks or relaxing by the water.

Transfer to the Flower Route. Scenic drive to mountain villages.

Arrival in Juayúa / Ataco. Check-in at the hotel and free time to explore the town.

Day 3

Departure from Ataco / Juayúa. Start of the tour along the Flower Route, one of the most authentic and green areas of the country.

Hike to Monterey Waterfalls. Monterey Waterfalls, guided hike (moderate level), trails surrounded by lush vegetation. Time to enjoy the waterfalls and take photos.

Free time for lunch. Options in Juayúa or en route (Meal not included)

Visit to Apaneca. Mountain village with a cool climate. Local cafes and adventure activities (depending on interest).

Return to Ataco. Tour of murals and picturesque streets, artisanal coffee shops.

Optional: visit to a coffee farm or processing plant.

Free afternoon

Day 4

Departure towards Tamanique

Transfer from the Flower Route to the coastal area, with a change of scenery from mountain to tropical forest.

Hike to Tamanique Waterfalls. Approximate distance: 5 km (round trip). Level: Moderate to challenging. Immersive hike through nature, natural pools, and waterfalls. Time for swimming and relaxation.

Time spent at waterfalls. Swimming in natural waters. Rest and photography

Ascent and descent. Start of the descent (most physically demanding part)

Transfer to the hotel. End of guided activity

Free afternoon.

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. Beach and relaxation. Walks along the seafront, cafes or restaurants overlooking the ocean.

Day 6

Departure

Breakfast at the hotel and free morning until check-out at noon. Transfer to El Salvador International Airport to conclude your adventure experience among volcanoes, waterfalls, and beaches of El Salvador's Pacific coast.
